Nationwide Site Services Ltd personnel and sub-contractors are required not to consume or be in the possession of alcohol or drugs of abuse in the workplace. No individual is to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol on site. All personnel and sub-contractors are warned that, to be found under the influence of drugs or alcohol, will result in disciplinary procedures being taken. All personnel and sub-contractors are warned that they may have to take a random drugs or alcohol test to determine their suitability to work.
Nationwide Site Services Ltd undertakes the testing of staff for the use or abuse of certain drugs in the form of a urine test in accordance with the nationally recognised standards and the strict requirements of Railway Group Standard GE/RT 8070.
The company advises all staff that they may be required to take a random drugs and/or alcohol test. Refusal will be taken as a test failure and could lead to dismissal. Nationwide Site Services Ltd provides alcohol and drugs monitoring and does not rely on the client for this service, personnel are required to comply with any testing initiated by the client.
Staff will be subject to testing where there is cause to suspect they are under the influence of drugs/alcohol or when they have been involved in a safety critical incident and there are grounds to suspect their actions led to the incident.
It is a requirement of Nationwide Site Services Ltd that no employee or contractor shall:
Report for duty having just consumed alcohol or being under the influence of drugs Report for duty in an unfit state due to the use of alcohol or drugs be in possession of drugs of abuse, supplying or attempting to supply them in the workplace Consume alcohol or drugs while on duty.
Staff are required to inform management if they suspect a colleague of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol. No toleration will be provided for any departure from the above. All staff and sub-contractors will be monitored before and during shifts.
Nationwide Site Services Ltd works to the following limits:
